Strengthening Supply Chain Security: Harry Hughes Visits NaVCIS Headquarters

Building a Safer Future for the UK’s Supply Chain

FET Logistics is proud to celebrate our own Harry Hughes, who recently visited the National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service (NaVCIS) headquarters in Coventry in his new capacity as TAPA EMEA’s UK Regional Lead.

This important engagement highlights the strong partnership between law enforcement agencies and the logistics industry, working together to combat freight and vehicle crime that continues to challenge the UK’s transport and supply chain sectors.

NaVCIS: Bridging the Gap Between Policing and Industry

As a national police intelligence unit, NaVCIS plays a vital role in identifying, investigating, and preventing freight and vehicle crime. Their work helps logistics providers and fleet operators strengthen their defences against organised crime, reduce losses, and implement effective crime prevention tactics.

Each year, organised crime groups cause multi-million Euro losses to the UK’s logistics and haulage sectors. By gathering intelligence, supporting frontline policing, and promoting industry-wide collaboration, NaVCIS continues to deliver measurable results that protect both businesses and the wider economy.

Harry Hughes and TAPA EMEA: Raising Standards in Supply Chain Security

During his visit, Harry met with the NaVCIS team to discuss their continued success in gathering and analysing intelligence on freight and vehicle crime, and the vital support they provide to frontline policing.

This engagement underscores the importance of a united front between law enforcement agencies, industry leaders, and security standard organisations in protecting the integrity of supply chains.

As part of the meeting, Harry provided an update on TAPA EMEA’s Supply Chain Security Standards, including the Trucking Security Requirements (TSR)—a globally recognised benchmark designed to safeguard high-value and sensitive goods in transit. These standards are integral to improving security, reducing risk, and enhancing transparency across Europe’s transport networks.

FET Logistics: Commitment to Security and Good Distribution Practice

At FET Logistics, we are immensely proud of Harry’s ongoing contribution to advancing supply chain security and good distribution practice (GDP) within our industry.
