Building Resilience Against Supply Chain Attacks: TAPA EMEA UK Conference 2026
Freight crime costs the United Kingdom economy over €800 million a year, according to the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Freight & Logistics. Organised crime groups view supply chains as soft targets, damaging economic growth, disrupting business relationships, and driving up prices for consumers.
To tackle these escalating threats, TAPA EMEA is joining forces with leading UK transport associations for a vital, one-day conference: the UK Freight Crime Risk & Resilience Conference, taking place at the CBS Arena, Coventry, on 22nd October 2026.
The event will be officially opened and hosted by Harry Hughes, Managing Director at FET Logistics and UK Regional Lead for TAPA EMEA.
The Scale of the Threat: By the Numbers
According to data tracked by the TAPA Intelligence System (TIS) over the 18 months leading up to 30 June 2026, the scale of freight crime across the UK remains staggering:
- 4,043 total freight thefts recorded across the UK
- 189 (<5%) victims confirmed their specific loss values
- >€40 million total confirmed loss value from those reporting figures
- €914,231 average loss for major thefts from UK supply chains exceeding €100K
These insights underline the urgent need for businesses to tighten their security frameworks, upgrade intelligence sharing, and rethink risk management strategies.
